St. Simon's Island, Georgia & Atlantic Beach, Florida

4/14 & 4/15
We had a relaxing couple of days but still got lots of tourist sight seeing in. On Sunday we had our first rainy day. Like I've said...that will not stop us or slow us down one bit. We headed right to St. Simon's Island.
It's a smaller community and we knew we wanted to see the lighthouse so we parked our car and decided to walk into town. The rain would not melt us! On our way we were very lucky and got to see a dolphin by the pier. Come to find out the dolphins feel safe near the island because it's a no shark zone. On our way back to the car we got to walk through a local craft fair.
Then we drove around in the rain, didn't know where to head next and ended up renting a red box movie and pitching tent at the Brunkswick Walmart.
Monday morning came sooner then we hoped. The beautiful day that it was we headed to Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park to get muddy on our bikes. The park has 20+ miles of off the beaten path trails and a day after the rain, it was mostly a mud pie. Some of the trails would go right next to these swamp river type bodies of water and you'd feel like you were about to fall in and be eaten by an alligator... Don't worry though, we never fell. After a while of the work out we relaxed on their beach to get our tan on and to see a couple more dolphins (no big deal now). We didn't want to get a sun burn so we called it a night a few hours later and off to Walmart we went.
Xoxo
