Today we went to the dump and we went dump shopping. I really wanted to find a shutter for another project but instead I came across these beauty's (big, old, windows).
Currently we have a bed set and it fits perfectly at my moms house. So, when we move out we are not going to have anything... *light bulb* how about make our own headboard? And that is what we did. Now I am really excited to find a house and show them off!
The windows need a very good cleaning and scrapping (they had fuzzy-ness around the edges)
Both had a broken window, so we smashed out the opposite window to make it look like it was gone on purpose.
Time to spray paint! We selected the solar white, it goes with everything and looks very elegant.
As you can see they still have scuff marks and signs of wear. We decided we liked that look because it makes it appear more vintage (which they are). If we did want to cover the marks we could have used putty for the holes and scratches.
Final product!!! Bring on the house :)
