Catalina State Park

05/04
We were looking in Tucson, AZ at state parks and trying to figure out what to do when we fell upon this little gem. Catalina State Park has hikes, walks, and a campground, plus today they were having a celebration at the park to commemorate their founding.
The park was opened in 1983 after almost ten years of going back and forth with the government and the community. Finally they were approved and what a nice destination it is for visitors and locals.
The entrance fee was free which was a bonus plus they had animal displays, guided hikes, live music, information booths (with free bumper stickers), food, and much more!!
It was a hot, 90+ day but the park was still very busy with lots of out of state visitors and friendly locals.
Overall the day was very enjoyable, we got about ten free bumper stickers for our upstairs, and ate a delicious quesadilla. Plus we got to use the campgrounds showers (bonus!) and got to make a whole day out of the free activity.
Xoxo
