Wilmington, NC and Wrightsville, NC

04/07 & 04/08
Wilmington is an adorable Historic District with a Dawson's Creek like atmosphere... Which makes the place even better because Dawson's Creek used Front Street in Wilmington to tape some of their scenes and the studio is a short distance away. Being a fan of Dawson's Creek in the day, I thought it was pretty neat to be there and wished they were still taping so maybe we could be an extra on the set!!! (Maybe in L.A.?)
Alongside the historic town runs Cape Fear River. To enjoy the warm weather and town there is a walkway along the river which you could walk or bike yourself or if you are feeling adventurous they have boat rides, trolley rides, or horse carriage rides. We decided to walk the path ourselves and then wind back to the car through Front Street which is home to many local restaurants, shops, and bookstores.
Wilmington is also the home of the USS North Carolina. That is one HUGE battleship. The ship could hold a crew of approx 2000 and just to see the lifestyle that one man had to live with during war was an eye opener.
To end our warm, sunny day we headed over to Wrightsville Beach. Unfortunately for Mike the water was a little too cold for him to play in but resting on towels on the beach - perfection. The only Debbie downer we had is they charge two dollars to walk the pier, lame, but that did not stop us from enjoying the rest of our afternoon before hitting the sheets at their Walmart parking lot.
Xoxox

P.S. They have red boxes here....but they are blue (blue boxes?!)
P.P.S. They have a two lane drive through McDonalds.......
