Houston, TX

4/24
Wow, last night was freezing! Woke up to powerful winds and rain throughout the night. Come morning Mike had to go out in shorts and a tee shirt to get our pants and sweatshirts from upstairs and when he got back into the vehicle his hands were like an icicles.
Once we were all bundle up for the day it was off to Houston. Our first stop was the Holocaust Museum. You read about the Holocaust in books and on the Internet, but when you go to a museum and watch true testimonies and see pictures that people have donated from their own collection makes the whole thing more real. It's hard to imagine a human, just like you and me, could do what they did and act like that to another human. It's sickening and just plain sad.
After our hour and a half self tour we made our way to the Water Wall. The wall is a 64' monument that 11,000 gallons of water rush down and is just incredible. Words cannot describe how amazing this wall is so, we took plenty of pictures!!
By this time the sun had come out and off went our sweatshirts. We proceeded to lounge on the grass in front of the water wall and decided that we felt like spending some money. When we got up to head to the Galleria (mall) we noticed our butts had water marks on them...we forgot about the rain the night before. Everyone got a good laugh when walking behind us.
The Galleria is a humongous four story (maybe even more) mall that has every shop that you could imagine inside. The coolest part (pun intended) being the indoor skating rink!! We did some shopping, hung out, people watched, and then left.
Off to Bastrop, Texas we go.
Xoxo
