French Quarter, New Orleans, LA

4/21
We woke up early to get a good parking spot in the French Quarter, early as in 6:30am. We drove around the French Quarter because of course we needed to get the best deal. Finally we found the spot and off we went to explore during the daytime.
Our first stop was breakfast. We had to try us some grits! They remind us of plain oatmeal, rice and mush. It tasted pretty good, Mike devoured his whole portion.
After our healthy breakfast.... It was time to walk it all off and that is what we did. Walked. A lot. The French Quarter is beautiful. So much to take in and enjoy. There was a famers market, lots of craft tables, tourist shops and VooDoo shops. We spent all day taking it in. We talked to other tourists, rocked our Boston Red Sox hat and got many Boston Strong compliments, saw a magician and some local artists (music and on paper). This section of New Orleans is just amazing.
Bourbon Street during the day is still stinky but it is a total different atmosphere. People are shopping and enjoying the peaceful restaurants that were once full of drunk people. In the morning road cleaners drive around the streets dumping water and what looks like soap, trust me the streets need it. It's amazing how much this streets is alive whether during the day or at night.
Late afternoon when our feet killed and knees couldn't bend anymore we decided it was time to hit the road.
Baton Rouge, here we come!
Xoxo
