Helpful Hint for Future Road Trippers

Buy a National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass (annual). Just do it. Trust me it is worth it!
If you are going to want to hike and take in the scenery, the park pass would be perfect for you. The pass is your ticket to at least 2,000 different federal sites and it will cover your entrance fees for you and all the passengers in the vehicle (which does add up). PLUS, even if you are not on your road trip you can still use it for a year. Take mini road trips if you want to get more bang for your buck.
