Jay Leno

05/15
What an experience. Worth the whole day effort! We were selected for the free tickets by applying online, lucky us. The tickets say to arrive before 2:45 but we got there way before because the lines start really early and the tickets do not guarantee you a seat. That would stink waiting around the whole time to be told it was full and you wouldn't be able to get it.
When we arrived at 12:30 ish there was already quite a bit of people waiting. The first waiting area does not give you the luxury of sitting and hopefully you don't have to use the ladies room because there are no bathrooms. After an hour of waiting in the first line they move you into the gate and assign your numbers, we were 56 & 57. Now you are in the second waiting area with covered seats and bathrooms, still not guaranteed a seat though (thankfully our numbers were pretty promising). You wait here until 3 when they start moving you into your seats. Inside they get to pick and choose who they want in what seats. There are floor seats for the people who get to shake Jay Leno's hand and then there are auditorium seats for everyone else. We were picked to sit in the front row where the band plays in the auditorium seats.
In the beginning you are instructed to laugh, cheer, and clap.... a lot. They also have a warm up comedian getting you hyped up for Jay Leno and he gives out prizes for people with lots of enthusiasm, which I got a Tonight Show water bottle. Show goes on and the taping is live so there are no retakes and you listen to his band on the commercial breaks. We got to see Usher and Nick Offerman then listen to Pyramid.
When all is done for the show, they tape Jay Leno for some commercial breaks then you are escorted out. The taping takes an hour but your experience is all day. If you are visiting LA for a couple days it is worth it. The experience is awesome!!!
Tomorrow we explore LA.

Xoxo

P.S. The upstairs of our Compass is filling up with bumper stickers!
