St. Marks Lighthouse

4/18
Wake up! Its time to head over to St.Marks state park. Maybe we can see another alligator (clearly we are from the north)?!?!?
St. Marks park is huge. We had to drive three miles to get to the entrance and then another six miles to get to the lighthouse. The whole time you are driving to the lighthouse you are going past plenty of possible alligator homes!
Most of the people who were driving along were looking at the birds, but not us, we were on the prowl. Unfortunately six miles went by with no luck. We did the usual lighthouse pictures and walked around to look at everything. Then we headed back on a mission.
One mile,
Two miles,
Three miles,
Four, five......
On the sixth mile we pulled over because we thought we saw movement. To get a better look we hopped over a no entrance rope (very dumb and tourist like) and headed down a path along the embankment. The wind was blowing so every little rustle the trees created made us jump. Finally, we got to the end of our trespassing and there he was, a big alligator. Of course pictures were necessary but, on the first snap of the camera he started to go under and then he disappeared. Of course our imaginations went crazy and could only picture him hunting down his prey, us. I don't think we have ever run that fast in our lives.
Don't worry... We made it out alive and we saw another alligator at the very end...
Off to Walmart we go.
Xoxo

...and unfortunately all my pictures got deleted as I was trying to upload them onto my iPad....
Great. So, I borrowed some from google images, St. Marks Tallahassee Fl (all credit goes to them), and will post the pictures below. They are almost exactly what we had for pictures.
